Press Release

Jaipur, 22 May: ‘Custom Hiring Centers’ are being established by the Government of Rajasthan with the aim of making farm mechanization accessible for small and marginal farmers in the State. This unique scheme has been started with the objective of promoting farm mechanization in agriculture and allied sectors under the ‘Mission on Agricultural Mechanization’. Through these Centers the farmers can rent farm machinery and equipment on the basis of their requirements. They are no longer required to purchase expensive agricultural machinery and equipments.

Details about the scheme and the mission will be provided to the farmers at the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM) at Kota scheduled to be held from 24 to 26 May.

Machinery for farm cultivation, sowing of seeds, plant protection and crop harvesting can be kept in these ‘Custom Hiring Centers’ as per local demand. This storage can be used to supply machinery to farmers in nearby villages. In an ideal situation, one ‘Custom Hiring Center’ can make available advanced agricultural machinery for farmers within an area of 10 km2. These will be especially beneficial for small farmers as well as the cultivators living in remote areas of the State.

These ‘Centers’ will provide on rent a variety of modern agricultural machinery like rotovator, reversible flow, disc harrow, zero till seed drill, ridge-ferro seed cum fertilizer drill, reaper cum binder, ridged bed planter and laser land leveler.
