As a part of the ‘Morning Raag’ series of the Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKk), a classical vocal rendition by Mr. Abid Ali was held on Saturday morning at the JKK lawns. The performance began with ‘Raag Bilas Khani Todi’. He also performed compositions ‘Hai Ni Ke Ghoongar Thumkat Chaal Chale Hai’ in ‘Vilambit Raag’, ‘Ek Taal’ and ‘Neel Nabso Badan So Hai Jalaj Nayan Vaar’ in ‘Chota Khayal’, ‘Ek Taal’. The programme was concluded with the performance of a ‘Thumri’ ‘Aan Milo Ek Baar Sajanwa’ in ‘Raag Jogiya’.
While Mr. Abid Ali also played Surmandal, he was accompanied by Rajendra Jadeja on Harmonium, Farooq Khan on Tabla, Dayam Ali on Sarangi and Manisha and Deepika on Tanpura.
