On the occasion of Rajasthan Divas, Pink City’s multi-arts center, Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) presented a mellifluous musical evening – ‘Desert Storm’ at JKK. The programme kicked off with the performance of Pundit Salil Bhatt presenting raag ‘Maru Bihag’ on Satvik Veena.
On the occasion Pundit Salil Bhatt said that experiments in music help the music to evolve and grow. Later during the programme, Ustad Anwar Khan Manganiyar performed ‘Kesariya Baalam’ and mesmerised the audience. The performance was directed and conceptualized by Pandit Salil Bhatt.
The performing artistes also included Roshan Khan on folk vocals, Kutle Khan on Khartal, Firoz Khan on Dholak and Himanshu Mahant on Tabla.
It is worth noting that ‘Desert Storm ‘ is the most well established Classical and Rajasthani folk music ensemble created by Tantree Samrat Pt. Salil Bhatt.
