Business orders and enquiries worth USD 50 millions have been generated over the past 3 days in ‘Vastra 2017’. This was informed today by the Rajasthan Industries Minister, Mr. Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, the Chief Guest at the valedictory session of the ‘Vastra 2017’. The buyer-seller meetings held in past 3-days and have been largely successful, he said.

The event was jointly organised by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO) and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The event is also supported by the Government of Rajasthan.

The Minister said that it was indeed satisfying that the products across the entire textile value chain were present in ‘Vastra’. He further added that the fashion designers across the globe increasingly blending latest textile products with textile craft. The interaction between exhibitors and buyers in ‘Vastra’ has resulted in some innovative clothing and designs. The Minister said that the B2C component of the event will give an opportunity to consumers too to buy the products and have a look at the new trends. He also urged that the ‘wool segment’ be introduced in ‘Vastra’ next year of which Rajasthan is a huge producer.

RIICO’s Managing Director, Ms. Mugdha Sinha said that the event has been a huge success not only in terms of generating business queries but also in terms of networking among the designers, garment manufactures, apparel exporters, buyers among others. As many as 2000 buyer-seller meetings have been held. The large participation of overseas buyers and exhibitors has indeed been a gratifying experience, she said.

The Regional Director, FICCI, Mr. Vivek Kodikal  proposed the Vote of Thanks.

The Minister also gave away the awards in different categories.

Award Winners:

The categories  were : Aesthetically Best Designed Stall (Cheer Sagar, Aman Exports International  and Kamakshi Kraftex Pvt. Ltd.); Best Range of Products Display (Ahuja Overseas Siddarth Organisation, Patterns India and Shadow); Best Ethnic Presentation (Deepak Mfg. Co., Prolight Engineers and Zinnia India); Best Contemporary Presentation (Cheer Sagar Exports, Ma’am Arts, Shree Dayal Exports and Shilpayan Décor); Best Textile Manufacturing (RSWM Ltd., Banswara Syntex Ltd., Mafatlal Industries Ltd and Gloster Ltd.); Best Design Wall Display (Navra, Tulsilicious and Nikita Home Furnishing) and Best Institutional Display (Arch Academy of Design and NIFT, Jodhpur).
