A special attraction of the 4 day Textile and Apparel Fair – ‘Vastra’ – is the Rajasthan Pavilion. It has on display various arts and crafts of Rajasthan like Handblock Printing, Khadi Wool, Applique Work, Kota Doriya, Tie and Dye, Lehariya, Bandhej, among others.
Available at the pavilion are handcrafted products like shirts, sarees, jackets, cushion covers, blankets, diaries, bags, among others. Scarves, Stoles and Shawls of Khadi wool as well as Kota Doriya sarees, dupattas and dress material which are on offer here are synonymous with the essence of Rajasthan.
Products of ‘Craftmark – Handmade in India’ which is the only national certification programme for genuine Indian hand crafted products, produced in a socially responsible manner are also on show here. Live demonstrations of Rajasthani handicrafts like Aari Zardozi, block printing and artificial jewellery making are also being held here. Chic and stylish pieces of renowned fashion designers like Swati Ubroi, Wendell Rodricks, Samant Chauhan, Urvashi Kaur, Rimzim Dadu, Tara Aslam and Ajay Kumar is also being showcased.
It is to be recalled that Vastra is being jointly organized by RIICO and FICCI.
