The traditional 2-day ‘Kite Festival’ will be inaugurated on 12 December morning at the terrace of the historic Sarvatobhadra Chowk at the City Palace. It will be inaugurated by the HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur at 11:30 am. The idea behind this festival is to create awareness among the foreign and domestic tourists about the significance of the festival and about the fun of flying kites.

The foreign as well as domestic tourists will enjoy flying kites and the traditional delicacies like ‘Daal Ke Pakore’ and ‘Til Ke Ladu’. On the occasion, the folk singers will render traditional Rajasthani folk songs. The ‘charkhie’ and ‘kite’ of the late Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II (1835 – 1880 AD) will also be displayed for the tourists.
